In May 2009, at age 18, Palin appeared on both the Today show and Good Morning America in recognition of the National Day to Prevent Teen Pregnancy, calling for all teens to abstain from sex.
This observance was started by The National Campaign To Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy.
She went on to appear in reality television programs, write a memoir and promote teen abstinence from sex.
“I’m so happy to have my son in my life, and to put all this back in (sic) forth in the courts behind me,” Johnston wrote in the post.
Bristol, 25, and the Palin family reportedly made it very difficult for Johnston to see his son following his widely publicized break-up with the former Alaska governor’s daughter in 2010, ending a tumultuous on-again-off-again young romance.
Bristol Palin's first name carries a web of associations for both her parents.
